Surrounded by wooded cliffs and moderately built-up, the bay of Cala Marçal lies just south of the port town of Portocolom in the east of Majorca. The almost 90 metre wide bay belongs to the municipality of Felanitx and is a popular seaside resort for young and old, due, amongst other things, to its easy accessibility. Visitors can enjoy a pristine, spacious sandy beach and clear blue water with views of the hilly landscape's rocky foothills.
Whilst the left side of the bay appears rather unspoiled, a beach promenade runs along the right side. This is a little higher up and as a result offers a magnificent view over the beach and the entire bay. From a culinary perspective you can indulge yourself in the many restaurants, which mainly offer Italian cuisine. There are bars and shops as well. A nice beach bar on the left-hand side of the bay provides cool relief during the day. The best thing to do here in the evenings is to enjoy the live music on offer in several places, or visit the club and relax with some good chill-out music.
A children's play area at the back of the beach and a pedal boat hire centre complete the facilities on offer at Cala Marçal. Unfortunately, there are only three boats. Having said that, they do at least have slides.
