Oman Dive Center Beach - Perfect beach for diving and snorkelling in a beautiful lagoon!
Oman Dive Center Beach is 52 kilometres by road from the capital Muscat in an easterly direction. This means the beautiful lagoon can be reached from the airport in about 45 minutes. The beach is especially good for diving and snorkelling fans, but other visitors will love the beach as well.
Guests at the Oman Dive Center stay directly on the beach and can spend their holidays completing various dives at the end of the lagoon. Non-guests can also use the beach but there is an admission fee. The daily admission fee for adults is €6 midweek (Sunday to Thursday) and €12 at weekends (Friday and Saturday) and during school holidays. This includes use of the sun loungers, showers, toilets and pool. Parking is also included in the price.
On the beach itself there is a long jetty leading out into the lagoon. From this jetty you can bathe and jump into the water. The lagoon is surrounded by high cliffs. Thanks to its location in the bay, the water is particularly calm and clear. The beach itself has a yellow stretch of sand, which is managed exclusively by the Oman Dive Center and as a result is very tidy and clean. A few stray dogs occasionally find their way onto the beach, but they are very shy so there is no need to worry. Since there are no seashells or stones on the beach you can go into the water without beach shoes. There are no dangers in the water either, so the beach is particularly good for children.
Oman Dive Center offers numerous diving tours. The dives take place at the far end of the lagoon. There are also good opportunities for snorkelling on the edge of the lagoon. Oman Dive Center is undergoing renovations until 2016. It remains to be seen what new leisure activities are being created.
