If you are on holiday on the island of Tenerife you should definitely visit Playa la Jaquita in the west of the island. The beach is situated north of the small village of Alcalá. It is not easy to find a car parking space here, but if you manage to find one you will be rewarded for your efforts with a stunning beach.
A large promenade stretches along all three bays. It is beautifully laid out and is a joy to stroll or jog along. The tastefully planted shrubs add to the nice surroundings. Here above the beach you can also find all the amenities, including toilets, showers and a beach bar. There are also lifeguards to keep an eye on the swimmers.
This very clean beach has a slight slope and consists only of fine, black sand, with no stones to be found here. It is perfect to lie on and there are plenty of sun-loungers and parasols for hire.
The water here is clear and clean and at each end of the outer bays you will find well laid-out seawater pools which are great for splashing about in. In addition to its cleanliness and nice layout, a special factor of this beach is its easy accessibility for everyone, including wheelchair users. Playa la Jaquita is a beach which we can fully recommend!
